Indawo was commissioned to replace the roofing at V&A Waterfront’s East Pier. The project involved removing existing roofing and replacing with new roof sheeting.

Being in a busy harbour, many factors had to be considered for the project including:

Safety of workers, safety of harbour staff, safety of harbour visitors and safety of docking ships and passengers.

Removing asbestos is a dangerous operation and requires strict adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act No 85 of 1993 as amended by the Occupational Health and Safety Amendment Act No 181 of 1993, click here to see The Act on the Department of Labour website.
