Structural repairs at Cascades in Greenpoint, Cape Town.

Indawo was contracted to remove the entire facade of the building due to deterioration.

This involved close collaboration with the engineers who managed the process, with continuous checking of safety and structural damage.

The initial phase of the project involved spot-testing to assess the damage. Spalling was evident in some of the areas and once the damage was assessed, the engineers gave the go-ahead to remove the facade and replace with a stronger product to ensure the safety of not only the building, but the tenants too.

Structural repairs, if detected early, can reduce the costs significantly for building owners. It is advisable to inspect your building regularly as part of your building maintenance plan.
