TOLLGATE CENTRE IN WOODSTOCK REPAIRED & REDECORATED.
Controversy arose last year when the badly neglected Tpllgate Centre in Woodstock became a public hazard. Chunks of concrete began to fall off the 7th storey concrete structure due to extensive spalling caused by badly corroded reinforcing steel.
Eventually, the owner of the cenre appointed us to remove all the obviousespalled areas thereby eliminating any further potential damage. In December 1994 the cenre was sold and the new owner immidiatly called tenders to complete the spalling repairs and redecorating the building.
We were the successful tenderer and work commenced in April to remove all remaining spalled areas to expose the corroded reinforcing steel which is being treated with rust inhibitors before repairs can be carried out using an approved cementitiousmortor.
The whole complex is being redecorated in a strikingly bold colourscheme which will completely transform the building.
Our Contract Manager, Raymond Naidoo, expects the project to be completed by the end of October/November.
